Dr. Bonnie Maplestone

Osteopath (B.App.Sc , Clin.Sc, B. Osteo.Sc Osteopathy)

Yoga Teacher/therapist of over 25 years Doula

She treats people from all walks of life. People from 0-100 years old people who are male, female or gender non binary and with a range of different conditions. She likes to treat people not the illnesses and this has her putting into practice her life’s purpose on a daily basis which is to understand and connect. This could be connecting with her clients or connecting the dots to solve the problem. Bonnie does enjoy complex cases which is why her greatest passion is in helping women who are interested in personal growth and want to improve their health by addressing female hormonal, autoimmune conditions and postural issues.

This love of complex cases has seen Bonnie complete further courses in post breast cancer osteopathic care, Paediatrics, Babies and osteopathic preparation for birth pelvic health and internal pelvic release work and cranial fundamentals. Bonnie also has a great interest in menopause, fertility dancers and yoga students.

Bonnie’s values of “Learning” and “Growing”, inspired Bonnie to research and address her own health ailments of which there is quite a number. It was this research that led her first to yoga and then to osteopathy and to a desire to share and educate the wider community on what she had learnt. One of Bonnie’s pet hates in life are the sentences “thats just a symptom of pregnancy” or “your baby is just a purple cryer” or “you can’t do x anymore because you have x” or “you to old to do that”

Through hearing statements like this, Bonnie has developed both a mentality of working with the patient to find a better way or to reduce the effects of their condition and improve daily functioning and a deep understanding of what it is like to sit in the patient’s chair.
Bonnie collaborates with doctors and other health professionals to get the best outcomes and to provide her patients with a comprehensive service.

Respect is incredibly important to Bonnie, which means she communicates clearly, ensuring her clients understand. Using accessible and simple language which offers a greater sense of relief to those lucky enough to engage with her.

Bonnie is a mum of two, a lover of reading, a life time yoga practitioner and a self proclaimed birth nerd. She volunteers for Birth for human kind and helps out at free drop in breast feeding clinics.
