Lactation Support and Breast Care

Our specialized care is essential for:

  • Enhancing comfort during breastfeeding
  • Improving milk flow and supply
  • Supporting baby’s ability to feed effectively
  • Promoting bonding between mother and baby
  • As part of your consultation for mastitis we can provide instructions on lymphatic drainage techniques and “boob yoga” exercises that will assist with drainage of inflammatory cells and fluid that collects in the breast as part of the inflammatory process. The techniques provided are gentle and should never be painful. When performed regularly they can assist with relieving inflammation and assisting to prevent further episodes.
Therapeutic taping and/or tubi-grip may also be used to assist with further lymphatic drainage of the breast after treatment.
  • Mastitis Care : Mastitis care:
Breast pain, swelling, and discomfort can be challenging and overwhelming to manage, especially if they impact your daily activities. If you’re experiencing these symptoms, you may be dealing with mastitis – a condition that affects many women, particularly those who are breastfeeding.
Mastitis occurs when the breast tissue becomes inflamed. It can cause redness, pain, swelling, and warmth in the affected breast, sometimes accompanied by flu-like symptoms such as fever and fatigue.
Therapeutic ultrasound can be used as a gentle treatment and management of mastitis by helping to reduce inflammation and alleviate symptoms. The treatment uses sound waves to create gentle vibrations deep within the breast tissue to increase blood flow, soften blockages, and promote healing.  It rapidly reduces pain, swelling, and redness in the breast tissue.
Research has shown 41% improvement immediately after 1 treatment & 64% within 24 hours. 1-3 treatments are usually required & take home advice & exercises to compliment the treatment will be provided.
