Common questions

Before your first visit.

A few of the questions we’re asked most often. If yours isn’t here, just send us a message — we love a good question.

Osteopathy is a form of gentle healthcare focusing on hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat the body’s structural and biomechanical dysfunctions. It aims to improve joint mobility, reduce stress on ligaments and muscles, and restore overall health and balance.

Osteopaths in Australia are government-registered primary healthcare practitioners with five years of full-time university training in areas such as osteopathic techniques, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and orthopaedic testing. They are also trained to recognise conditions that require medical referral and undergo regular postgraduate training.

No, you don’t need a referral to make an appointment. However, some patients are referred by medical practitioners, other health professionals, or personal trainers.

Osteopathy is covered by Medicare under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan for eligible patients. Consult your GP to determine your eligibility.

Most health insurance funds provide rebates for osteopathic treatments, depending on your level of cover. It’s recommended to check with your provider before commencing treatment. Our clinics are equipped with HICAPS, allowing immediate claims.

Wearing comfortable and loose clothing is ideal for allowing easy movement and access during treatment.

Please bring any relevant X-rays, scans, or medical reports to your appointment. If a child is being treated, their health record book and a favourite toy or book are recommended.

Yes, our osteopaths are recognised to treat injuries covered under workers’ compensation. Patients are required to pay for their appointments upfront and can then claim the cost through their insurance provider.

Definitely. Osteopathic treatment can be incredibly beneficial during pregnancy, helping to relieve a variety of symptoms and support the body through changes. Our osteopaths have undertaken extensive postgraduate study in treating pregnant women and are passionate about providing care during this special time.

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes to appointments. A fee may apply for missed appointments or late cancellations. We also commit to giving you 24 hours’ notice if we need to reschedule your appointment.
