Born in Japan and having lived in Australia for 30 years, Melbourne-based Mayumi works closely with families and educators across both countries. She thoughtfully integrates developmental movement, meaningful play, sensory integration, and Steiner education—rooted
in an anthroposophical way of living that values natural, common-sense rhythms—to support child growth through movement and the richness of everyday life.

As a neurodivergent child herself, Mayumi’s personal journey inspired her to address the developmental foundations that often lie beneath common diagnoses. By helping children build
the essential capacities necessary for learning, self-regulation, and confidence, she offers a unique perspective. To further deepen this holistic approach, she is currently restudying naturopathy with a specialisation in the paediatric and neurodivergent areas.
As an educator in both Australia and Japan, Mayumi frequently delivers professional development for parents, teachers, schools and health professionals, making complex developmental science accessible and practical. Her work emphasises the importance of parent education and creating lifestyles deeply rooted in play, nature, and consistent rhythm. Mayumi’s vision is to help children feel safe and capable while empowering adults to confidently nurture
each child’s unique developmental path. Dedicated to remaining at the forefront of her practice, she maintains a deep commitment to continuous, lifelong learning in this field.
